I got my subs, amp, etc. installed; I kept my stock head unit b/c its a 6 disc player, my question is what does the fader/fade button do?

All the fade button will control is the output level of the front and back speakers. The negatives gives more in the back while less in the font and vis versa. 0 is to give equal front and back output.

It controls how much of the sound goes to the front and back speakers. It's like left and right turned by 90 degrees.
