I've often thought there should be a support group where single people can discuss the problem they face being single, but I'm at a loss of how to start one . Where do I begin ?

Being single is not a problem; people who are single are generally single by choice.

It sounds like you are asking for IDEAS. I am full of tons of ideas, a few are good.

Go and find a few others who think such would be a good idea to start a single club. Places where you could find people who want a single group would be Churches, Colleges, AA or self-help Meetings. Then get a hall to meet in.

Place a Public Service Announcement in the newspaper.

Not sure but that is a great idea. I wish I had a support group when I was single. Might have been easier.

Your meetings should start with the motto: "There are two kinds of people in the world .... those who are single and wish they were married; and those who are married and wish they were single". What a way to kick-start a meeting !!!

I suggest doing a meetup. Organizing a meet up is just like your support group and you can connect with people who share your similar interests. http://www.meetup.com
