My dog keeps outsmarting me! We have a 6 foot fence surrounding our property and my dog keeps climbing it and running around town! I take him to work with me on a vineyard everyday where he runs around for 9 hours, so he can't be underwalked. I put an electric wire on the top of the fence wich worked until the battery died when he chewed it off at the base so it could not be repaired. He has pulled apart any atempt at tying him up. even tried a board at the top of the fence facing in (kind of like at the top of a prison fence). I feel like we have tried everything! Help!

Escaping from yard: Build a better fence a make the ground up to the fence non-diggable.

Fence: suggestions
1) make the surface of the fence less possible for them to grip

Careful with tying up a dog. If you ever watch Animal Planet - Animal Cops - you will sometimes see dogs that have hung themselves in attempts to get free. It's also unlawful is some parts of the US to tie up dogs.

Is he aggressive? Does he cause damage or wreak havoc in your neighborhood when he gets out? Does he come back each time? Maybe you should let him have his fun so long as he poses no liability and always finds his way home.

Otherwise, you might need to look into an "invisible fence" that creates an artificial perimeter around your property. It's wired underground and sends an unpleasant but harmless shock to your dog if he tries escaping. This is slightly different from a typical electric fence and I'd be truly astounded if your dog figures a way around this!

There are other offerings by other brands; this is the first that came up when I googled it.

They in all threat weren't attempting to outsmart the dogs, they only needed it close handy. The preliminary coaching era i think is a few 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and then the persevered coaching never stops. Drug canines can continuously be experienced on greater drugs, they only never stop discovering, because of the fact for them its a interest. They locate the medicine, they get their toy. the commencing up coaching them at some 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, and that they %. out the aggressive canines with a huge prey rigidity so they are able to coach them to do all of it day, and since the canines are experienced by utilising a expert, the aggressiveness would be actual channeled in a secure way.

Please do NOT get an invisible fence! They can turn a nice dog mean instantly. They are expensive and cruel like shock collars and they don't always work anyway. I think if you can't be outside to watch him then keep him crated in the house.

How about this: when you let your dog outside, stand on the other side of the fence. Use a squirt gun. When he tries to escape, squirt him in the mouth with vinegar and chase him back into the yard. Do this about 10000 times and maybe that will work?

Try electric underground fencing. Or, consider building him a kennel or run- cement bottom, large enough for him to move around, have food and water available, and have a bed or crate inside of- with wire fencing and a completely sealed wire roof.

hehehe your dog is quite smart and has a lot of energy... what material is you fence made off??? try to put something to make it slippery, if it's a wire fence try to make it higher.....try to put something that repels the dog (ex. Yuck is a spray that is supposed to repel dogs...it didn't work for my dog.... a lab who eats everything and anything, you can purchase this at Petsmart...first you might want to try a mix of oil and cayenne pepper, this didn't work for my dog either)
