other religions are just bare sustanance. Wouldn't you like the real banquet?

The only true banquet occurs on mass in the sacrament of the eucharist when the bread and wine are turned into the body and blood of jesus Christ who offered himself for our sins and for our salvation, and who said, do this in memory of me. We encounter Jesus himself trully and verily in the mist personal way possible because nobody who is not worthy can aproach and receive the communion, you have to be first in spiritual communion with Him and then aproach and receive his body and blood.

he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood will neve die and i will rasie him up on the last day. said the Lord.
Amen

But remember that we believe that other denominations are trully christians on their own right and we are called to love them, respect them and work for the reconciliation of all those who profess Christ as their savior. We catholics do not beleive that you will not go to heaven if you are not catholic, that is just an attack that many anticatholics throw at us. We love and respect our separated brethren.

I really don't mean to be rude, but when I think of a big ol' banquet or smorgasbord of food, I think of a lot of junk that I really don't need to be eatting, you know, sort of pick and choose. Unfortunately, and nothing against them, but that is how most of my Catholic friends see their religion also. It is not so much a way of life, but a professed belief. The Catholic church has, without dispute, changed significant doctrines of the church over time. I guess sort of like a Smorgasbord, when something gets a little old you've got to bring in something new.

Now, I really do respect the Catholic church, and they have some great teachings. I also respect other religions, and would bet that most people think they have the majority of the truth. I will not hold that against anyone.

The word of God is the feast, not a particular religion.

The Catholic religion hase no basis to even exist in the first place. The "rock" refered to is Christ himself and not Peter. Jesus/God is refered to as the "rock" something like 48 times throughout the Bible. Little wonder the Lord will destroy the Catholic Church during the tribulation. See Revelations Ch.17 V1-9 which gives the reasons why!

Let's see... you pray to dead saints and have idols in your churches. You treat the traditions of men as the commands of God. Yeah, I want to be a Catholic. NOT!

To each his Own. You suggestion that other relgions are of less value than your own is what is wrong with this world. Jesus was a man who called for peace your words call judgement and relgious intolerance. IF you want to show people the value of your relgion then show us with your actions. Your words are meaningless.

I like the way you think Midge. It is not very often that I see any positive things being said about our church. Most of the time it is all anit-Catholic garbage.

Catholics are actually deceved in the Bible it tells us there is only one mediator between God and man and that is Jesus Christ why in the world shoud we have to confess our sins to a priest when Jesus died for us and if you study it out the catholics changed the ten commandments look it up.

Midge, dear, I'm Catholic, but I think your question was rude to other Christian religions. I hate it when they attack Catholics, but we should not attack them. All it does is circle the cruel feelings.

Actaully, and please do not take offense at this, but I have found that several of the catholic doctrines run contrary to the Bible and as such I do not follow that path. Thus, I am a reformed presbyterian, which I have found to be much more biblically valid.
