My friends and I (who are all 18) are planning a trip to Florida. I was told you had to be 21 but i wasn't sure.

Different companies may have different policies. Some only want to rent to those 25 and older. Some will rent to those 21-25 but charge a higher rate to those under 25. A few will rent to those under 21, but you aren't going to get any bargain rates. I found one Florida company that might rent you a car. There may be others. Check the fees and see if it makes sense to rent. You might be better off taking cabs or public transportation.

In order to not have any fees, you need to be twenty five. However, in most states you can rent a car at twenty one with a fee, and in Michigan and New York, you can rent a car at 18 with a fifty dollar a day fee. For exact info, check out, hertz.com.
