Jean Michel Basquiat an African American graffiti artist who was a friend of Warhol's late '70's early ' 80's. He also pioneered the concept of "ignorant art".

Depends on the genre. My favorite artist of all time is Michael Whelan and second would be Frank Frazetta. Next Luis Royo, then Darrel K. Sweet.
