You will need to get a treadmill exercising machine (the one that has inclinations) for your home. For the first week, only walk with no inclination for 30 minutes 5 days/week. Gradually, with each day, increase speed to fast walk (around 4.2), and time to an hour. At the same time increase inclinations. If it is a pre-programmed treadmill, it will switch inclinations for you. If it the manual, you will have to switch them your self: 4 minutes on low inclination followed with the 4 minutes on high inclination, and alternate like this. You should lose about 20 pounds in 8 weeks.

Find an activity or class that you'd enjoy, with or without the kids. It has to be something you enjoy. Examples Yoga, Tia chi, Karate, dance lessons, swimming anything like that. These can be very low impact but great in getting you into shape quickly. i took karate 2x a week for an hour each time, you wouldn't believe! how fast my body got into shape...and I was never sore. But there should be more mommy and me activity/fitness groups (or daddy and me).

You should probably loose a little weight first by just dieting
Then you will have a little more energy, plus you will get more enthusiastic about it because you will see that you are doing it!
i say loose about 20 pounds
