Are you sure your not being too clingy? Are you giving him some space? He might not be joking but not admitting it. Of course I cant judge it because I dont know how you are but you should ask him to be bluntly honest with you so you can deal with it if it is a problem.

Everybody has their own definition of clingy and needy- he sounds like he's using it as an excuse to do what HE likes; if he says that you are N&C, analyse the context- is it when you haven't seen him much and you are making the most of his company? or is it when you've spent a fair bit of time together? If you've asked him outright, and he says they're just jokes, perhaps he is just someone with a facetious sense of humour; he's picking up on the LACK of C&N and making a point in a sarcastic manner ; maybe he wants more of your attention....As far as DOING something to make them stop----back off. Making yourself less available will let him realise that your company is something he wants more of---then he'll come to you. Just don't let him call all the shots....that's how we get our hearts broke.

It would not have a recognition yet however the layout demands a a million,000 cc without seating or handlebars. Its basically industry are purchasers who won't be in a position to have the money for to sit down down and don't be attentive to which direction to instruct.

Tell him the jokes are hurtful and you want them to stop. If he respects you he will. Typically, repeated "jokes" are not jokes, they are put-downs or warnings. He may think all women are needy and clingy.
You could also just ignore the jokes or respond with an "Oh, that old joke" type of joke.

Both men and women make "jokes" when they are in a situation that they may not be familiar with, or they believe history may be repeating itself with someone new.
It sounds like he is making an effort to consider your feelings. A small action, (say, like an appreciative glance), may let him know you are aware he is trying to do as you asked.

Frankly, they just eventually will diminish to very little. Sometimes, believe it or not, its a fear that you will become that way and its his way of saying that he won't have it. Its unfortunate but sometimes thats just the way it is.

He is trying not to say it as much so that is a start. Don't get angry about it . In time he will quit.
