I got braces 2 weeks ago. That day they put spacers in. Today i went back and got my actual molar bands put in. How long will i not be able to chew without my back teeth hurting? Please let me know anything else i can do to help my situtation being that thanksgiving is 3 days away.lol..

for the first 3-4 days they hurt pretty bad then they only hurt a little bit for about a week after that then they dont really hurt until you go back and get them tightened or whatever. by thanks giving (what is that anyway, im from australia lol) well i kno you eat food at it lol so they shouldnt be too bad by then i wouldnt think. just chew slowly, eat soft foods, and dont try and bite into them, cut up your food. good luck

When I was a teenager I had the same problem. My teeth hurt for a week after getting the molar bands put in, then everytime I went in to have my braces adjusted my teeth would hurt for a week afterwards.

They will hurt for a while, the brace is pushing and pulling them quite a bit. You may have to adjust the way you eat. I had to when I had my braces on when I was a teen...;
