This girl and I have been dating not too long. (>1wk) . She is likes me and I like her too. She's invited me to her place where we kissed, hugged.. It turns out that she's just broken up with her BF. I am afraid that I could be the rebound. She's one of my classmates. What bothers me that she keeps telling people that we know that we are seeing each other to prevent rumors from spreading. I don't know what to do. Should I abstain from her or what? I have started to have feelings for her. Your response in any shape or fashion means alot to me

Just be careful, people on the rebound often do things they regret.

You are right....you could be a rebound. So for you to follow through with that would be the wrong thing to do.

I don't know your ages. If less than 18 both of you should hold off for a long while. Having sex will only bring you grief. While it is so hard to abstain from by doing so actually enhances the relationship. The time you would spend having sex can now be spent talking. Learning about each other.

Continue to go with her and keep getting to know her better.
Wait until there is no doubt that both of you love each other before even thinking of sex. Sex changes everything in a relationship and you want to be sure it is only for the good.

The answer from Ross is right on. What other people think is none of your business. They're going to think what they're going to think, and you have no control over that.

If you like the girl, go for it! Enjoy!

I'd suggest dating is ok, but no kissing or makeout sessions.
