I have a part time job, and I work with a 16 yr old boy. His girlfriend is 19. She got kicked out of her house, so she lives with his family. They actually started dating when he was 14, and she moved in when she was 15. His parents are pretty (very?) lenient, and most nights they share a bed (his room is in the basement, other bedrooms on 2nd floor). They've been sexually active since she moved in. They think it's cool, but I think he is too young for that. Maybe I'm wrong..............

I guess everybody is raised with different values. I know 12 and 13 yr olds that have a child.

Yes he is too young. But so is she. Of course that will not stop either one of them. Why did she get kicked out of her parents house and have to live with him. Is this the reason?

If she were the boy and he were the girl he could go to jail for having sex with a minor. I don't know about this but there should be no difference. She is breaking the law because he is not old enough to know what he is doing. She should be.

He's 3 years younger than her, and they started having sex when she was 15 and he was 12???

Hello... Statutory rape charges all around???

Yes, this is too young. If either of them get mad at the other, and start pressing charges, someone may do jail time, and end up on a sexual offender list. That will seriously crimp their chances of getting a good job. The parents may be found liable for allowing this to happen in their own home, too.

It's not the SEX that has me worried, if they're using protection to avoid diseases and pregnancy.

It's the level of intimacy / permanence that the situation implies, with them LIVING TOGETHER already.

If the girl got kicked out b/c of abuse in her home, she should have gone to the police / county while she was a minor.

A concerned neighbor or parent could turn HIS parents in now. Last I checked, in most states, a three year gap like that constituted statutory RAPE.

Even in the best case scenario, a young common law marriage like that is about as enjoyable as a raw box of spaghetti. You're more than "al dente" - you're about 50% of who you'll be by 30.

she got kicked out of the house(probably trash) ,he is young before he'll know she will be pregnant and while other 16 yr old will be dating and playing PS3 having fun he will be have worry about taking care of the baby, she is older then him so she will keep him on his toes at attention. before he knows(few years down the road) now his parents will ask him to leave the house with his family.
how do you like this scenario or how cool is that guy really...?

I think he is too young too and his parents shouldn't put up with it. For one she is legallly an adult and that is stagitory rape. that is gross. It wouldn't be so bad if she was his age but he is too young especially for an adult women. Maybe she is using him so she has somewhere to live for free.
I tell yiou this there is no way my son is going to be sleeping with someone at that age in my house or anywhere else (that is if i know about it, it won't happen).
He is a child and that is gross she should be ashamed of herself and someone should notify the police that a19 women is sleeping and living with a child. My son would be locked in his room if i knew that he was doing something like that and i would put her in jail.

I agree that he's too young. HOwever, you cant really force him to not have sex. Rather, you should explain the dangers of sex in more of an informative, conversational way. Dont turn to lecturing or yelling.
