She may have the early stages of dementia (there are many kinds!). The only way to know for sure it for her to be tested by a professional...;

There is early onset Alzheimer's. The only way to know is to have a doctor give her cognitive testing, which is a series of specially designed questions and exercises to evaluate her mind. If she does poorly at them, then the doctor will order a blood test and some kind of brain scan.
If you at all suspect that she's got something wrong, please do it sooner rather than later. Looking back I see my dad's symptoms really started when he was around 55 and we didn't get him diagnosed until he was 63. The various Alzheimer's medicines do work to slow it down but only if the person with AD is diagnosed and taking them.
Good luck. I know it's hard.

I did a report on Alzheimer's and I found out that there are three types. On of the types is Early Onset and can take affect when the person is 40-50 years old. So yes, your mom could have Alzheimer's, I'm not saying for positive, just that it is possible. Take her to a doctor to check. She could just be forgetful!

She may have lots on her mind/plate. She is, after all, in the throes of menopause and her hormones are totally out of whack. And, yes, of course she may have alzheimer's. There's only one way to find out...Ask her what's going on with her that she seems to be so forgetful.

she might hav it but it could be possible that she doesnt hav it. she could just hav alot to think about or needs to worry about other.things but if she does then you hav to find ways to preserve some of the things that she says or does bcuz my friends dad has Alzheimer's and she is living through it. she went to Build-A-Bear and got her dad to say something on a speaker so that once he forgets who she is she will always hav a way to remember that he loves her. maybe you should do something like that just in case.

It could be. Or it could be a circulatory problem. If her arteries are really clogged, the brain may not be getting enough blood and oxygen. You should tell her your concerns. May she will go get checked.
