oh god what ever you do don't by us practical gifts....why havent men learned this yet? Just because our vaccuum breaks doesnt mean we want one as a gift! Go with the romantic approach honey, it shows that you care for your girl alot for you even to ask practical or romantic, but seriously honey, go with the romance! a good idea is something small and sweet, something that you've but alot of thought into, or something that looks like you did. By her something like a personalized journal, but you fill the first page out with your own entry....now thats romantic! plus we always love p.j.s or bath salts and candles. You'll think of something, hell the fact that your thinking about X-mas gifts for your girl already this early shows you really care, you'll do great...good luck sweetheart!

Could it be something romantic and practical? Like a weekend in Paris and an electric toothbrush? Jewellery is always good, and practical in the "a girl's got to have earrings" way. I'm sure she'll love whatever you'd get her, as long as it came from the heart, and with the receipt.

Romantic for sure...Surprises are always good. Maybe invite her over to your house for a romantic dinner, light lots of candles, dress nice, spread some rose pedals around the room. And then give her something special!! Whatever you can think of that she'l like. She'll appreciate the time you take to please her rather then how much money you spend....Might depend on the girl though. BUT if i was your girlfriend, that's what would impress me.

A little of both. But err on the side of the romantic. Something she wouldn't go and get herself, but something that is significant to the two of you. Never underestimate the power of a gift that says you gave it a LOT of thought. Only under special circumstance could a hot water bottle be considered a romantic gift!

Romantic. But something I would like. I like it when a guy uses his head to buy a present. Imagination and knowing what I really is a real turn on.

RE: Christmas present for girlfriend? Here's a little dilemma: usually, I get my girlfriend a nice Christmas present. Last year, I got her the Victoria's Secret satin bathrobe; another year I took her to a bed & breakfast in Vermont, etc. The question is, what is something nice and romantic to do this year? Here's the...

I would say Romantic... A new nightie, and some massage oils, scented candles, romantic cd... Basically gearing her up for an evening of loving. Practical stuff she can buy for herself.
