In the USA, a restraining order (also referred to as an order of protection) is issued by the courts with the intention of protecting a person (or persons) from another. The person that the order is against is frequently not permitted within a set distance (1000 feet for example) from you, your home, or your place of business. This person is also restricted from having any contact with you -- no letters, no phone calls, no emails, etc...
Restraining orders can be temporary or permanent and may have to be periodically renewed (every year, every 3 years, etc...)

Restraining orders are put in place when somone feels that their live is in danger from someone else. The order is to let that person konw that if they come within certain distance of a that person they will be arrested. Sometimes restraining orders do not always work because if someone wants to hurt you badly they will find a way.

It is a legal court document that keeps a person from getting within so many feet of you or contacting you. If the person the order was issued against violates it then they can be put in jail.

If she has filed the order she should not be in difficulty if she chooses to interrupt it--yet she's making a wide mistake if she does. The restraining order replaced into placed into effect to guard her from this guy. The court device received't take her heavily if she deliberately places herself in position to be close to him.
