has anyone ever heard anything like this? I have some kind of digestive ailment which feels like it is getting worse and worse. I have, of course, been to the doctors, but they have no idea what it is. Let me explain the symtoms;

It is all based around how I feel shortly after eating. WHAT EVER I eat, I will start to feel actually DEPRESSED and very tired about 30 minutes after eating, and that feeling stays for about 2 hours after. It is very noticable when I first wake up - ie if I eat Breakfast I feel very very bad after, and the same is true for lunch. By the time I get dinner, it is often not so noticable. We are talking a obvious depression here as the first sign, my head clouds over slightly, I find it very difficult to think 'happy' thoughts, feel de-motivated, and generally really really miserable. There is also a physical part of it - after eating I often get bad 'wind' which makes me want to burp a lot. When I do burp, there is a small amount of depression relief.

Consider gluten intolerance. I have recently discovered I have this and now, when I have gluten, I feel very tired and unmotivated right after I eat it. When I first went off gluten, I felt like a fog lifted from my life. I was on antidepressants but being gluten free has enabled me to get off from them. Frequently, but not always, gluten intolerance causes digestive problems like stomach aches, diarrhea, and constipation. Frequently, it is missed by doctors. Celiac disease/gluten intolerance takes on average in the US, 11 years to be diagnosed and is frequently determined by the patient before the doctor.

Try changing your diet. Eat VERY healthfully, cut out sugars and junk food. Your body could be reacting negatively to fats and sugars. It has been shown that people who eat healthier are happier.

I should know...I changed my diet to a very healthy one back in May, and I didn't get my seasonal depression this year like a normally do.
