We have a pickle Jar that we can't seem to get open. We have done the wacking it on the side and putting it under hot water, and wacking the bottom of it. What do we do???

Put ice on it and then put hot water on it. It will expand and come right off.

Poke small holes in the lid to relieve the pressure.

i would sometimes use a small butter knife and stick in the small space between the lid and the jar underneath

Get a large pair of channel locks or a large pipe wrench. That should do the job.

Break it like a piggy bank.

What I find works is to tap the top with a hammer. If you dent the edge, that seems to work all the better.
