I didn't know how this free education thing worked out. I want to go to Capella for graduate school in Counseling, but it is an online school. I'm hoping I will be able to go to this school using all of my PA national guard benefits.

Does anybody know if If the army will pay for this?

Are you talking about the Army paying through the GI Bill, or does the PA National Guard have a program like the OH National Guard where they will pay 100% of your school tuition totally independent of the GI Bill?

If you're talking the National Guard program, check with your unit. I don't know anyone who's used the program in the OH National Guard for an online college. Although if they're accredited, I couldn't imagine why you couldn't.

The Army National Guard , which I am a member of is pretty good. They have full time jobs you can apply for. They help pay for school and you can serve your country. The advantage over active is that you an pursue other things and if you want can go active later on. I got a college degree from the National guard and how man other 23 year olds when applying for a job can say they have a college degree and is an Iraq war vet ( 11 1/2 months). Active is great but the option to serve and pursue career goals is a very good deal.

As long as you have served out your time ( i.e 4 years - 8 years whatever you signed up for ) and you have been outstanding in your field of work, then the GI bill, no matter what will apply. You just have to make sure to run it through your command first off before you go to school.

Good luck

If it is a nationally accredited school it should be covered by the GI bill, but I would contact the person in your unit that handles that kind of thing to make sure.

Edit: Sorry, I thought you were speaking of prior.

Your GI Bill should pay for it.
