Thats a no brainer, of course take it to the vet, expecially if it's not eating our drinking. Cats carry too many diseases to mess around asking this kind of question

Yes, by all means and with a swelling, it may have been hit with something, rather than a cat fight. Normally a cat fight will have lots of scratches and fur missing, but not swelling.

My big Maine Coon Tomcat gets into some scrapes and for a day or so, he will go kinda slow, but after a while, he is back to A OK. He has been known to go one on one with dogs and he can more than hold his own.

Cat fights can get vicious.

The fact that he is eating is a good sign. If a cat is really injured or sick they will rarely eat at all. However, I would definitely take him to the vet just to get him on some antibiotics.

you have to be speaking to the veterinarian and not the vet tech. in case you're extremely worried, consult with the veterinarian and the vet can handle your concerns - the stats. it ought to reason renal failure yet possibly it relatively is basically passed off in a small form of cats - so in prepare - quite unlikely that your cat would be affected or renal failure ought to be led to from different issues besides. on condition that your cat is an elder, renal failure is already achievable in some unspecified time sooner or later or something else. To me, she continues to be youthful yet I only lost a kitty that modify into 10 a million/2 years old - maximum cancers. a chum of mine lost his cat simply by renal failure at 10 years old. It exchange into stunning. some months earlier, he won a sparkling bill of well-being - had his tooth wiped sparkling. regrettably, you may desire to bypass with the aid of your vet. you ought to verify with a close-by pharmacist yet those i've got worked with did not be attentive to too plenty approximately veterinary drugs nevertheless they must. it form of feels to me that one and all drugs have their disadvantages, fantastically in cats that are small. they desire an quite small dose, in many circumstances. My mom is a vet tech. She's on trip now or i could ask her. are you able to call a vet only outdoors your area and spot what they could inform you? that's what i elect to propose.

Yes if he is swollen then there could be an infection which may need antibiotics. cats can also contract diseases from other cats its allways best to assume this if you think he has been in a fight.

Yes, take him to the vet! Cat bites are notorious for getting infected, and it sounds like that's what happened to your kitty.

That kind of incident is exactly why I keep my cats INSIDE.

Please see a vet soon. Infection can begin from puncture wounds inflicted in a cat fight. He's probably extremely sore and achy and doesn't feel like getting up and moving around.

He sounds like he might be feverred and infected. A visit to the vet wouldn't hurt anyway.

Good luck!

YES take the cat to a vet. He might have contracted a virus or disease from the other cat. Or he might have a serious infection and might die.
