I was raised a catholic, but I also like Witchcraft and Wicca which I took when I was 14 (23 now), but I also still have catholic (or christian) believes...

Can you do both (because all the Bible things that say this may take you to hell and others like that)

Yes, you can.
I, myself, am Catholic as well. This is what I believe:
Religion is whatever you believe it is. Everyone is different, therefore their interpretation is different and changes from person to person. The bible was written by man, not god, man - and has changed many times to encompass all branches of religion, we don't know the words of god, just that of his son's disciples, men. A good tool, good guide lines, but only that. We don't know the actual events.

Also, if I remember correctly, Christianity has adapted many things from early religions such as the pagan religion, (true early pagans are not satin worshipers - it's a fluke in information over the years that makes people think they are) and was massively practiced by the roman empire, one of the bloodiest and ruthless empires in human history. If they can be Christan, you certainly can.

Religion, any religion, has come to been misused as a divider of people, when, in fact, it was meant to unite them. The bible, (as in this case) says to forgive and love everyone, therefore, regardless of everything else, should we not do that?

All in all though, if God truly didn't like something, he certainly could hit it with a lighting-bolt or smite it from the earth. You're still here, so I think you're okay.

This largely depends on who you ask. Since you're asking me, I'll gie you my answer. Many churches may disagree, but I see nothing that makes their opinion more valid than mine.

There's very little in Wicca that I could see preventing you from being a Christian witch. So let's just skip that.

On the other hand, its a matter of who you feel gets to decide whether or not you're a Christian. If you're not a Catholic, why would you look to the King James Bible for such an answer? Or if you, like a growing number of Christians, reject the Bible as the word of corrupt men and neither the word of God nor Jesus, why would you look to the Bible at all?

In my opinion, what makes a person a Christian is admiring and following the life and teachings of Christ. So I would say, yes, you can be a Christian witch. However, who am I to say so? You need to decide who your authority on Christianity is- be it a Church, a person or You- and go to them/yourself to decide on that answer.

No- a wiccan christian is an oxymoron. They do not abide by what the Bible says. And as far as living for both- God says you cannot do this.

Luke 16:13
"No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

-I know this pertains to loving money too.

This verse is applicable:
2 Corinthians 6:14
[ Do Not Be Yoked With Unbelievers ] Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?

--because wiccan (witchcraft) is evil- even if it seems good- it goes against God.

Actually, the Bible itself originally said "Thou shalt not suffer a poisoner to live", but in the inquisition era, it was changed to witch.

I am a Wiccan myself, and I grew up in a Christian household with a Minister for a Mother.

However, the Christian church in general forbids witchcraft. Christianity and Wicca do not "mesh well". However, Religion and Spirituality is a person thing, who says you need a label? Believe and practice what you like, as long as it harms no one. You'll see how happy you are and how happy whatever Diety you chose to honor will be.

Labels only cause more problems....

Brightest Blessings

A real Christian wouldn't even ask that question. Wicca and withcraft are Pagan religions, and therefore not compatible with a Christian lifestyle. One of the oldest commandments says 'you shall not suffer a witch to live'. Goes to show that even in Moses time there were people who drifted from the worship of the true God and tried to find another way to live their life. The bible forbids it. OK this was pre-Christian, but Jesus said 'I am the way...' If you choose not to follow him, you choose not to be a Christian.

That is a good question. I am a firm believer in following your heart. I was baptized a catholic as a baby but was not brought up traditionally in the church. I can understand the similarities- ritual, incense etc that may attract you to both. There will always be people who think otherwise. Do what feels right to you and ignore the rest.

Since I am not Catholic I would refer you to your church for the Catholic Church's position. I can tell you that Biblically speaking a person cannot have or serve two masters.

Witchcraft is not of the Lord so it should not be a part of a Christian's life.

I hope this helps. Talk to some people of authority where you attend church tehy should help you.

Well, you have two things working against you on this....

The First Commandment, for starters. " Thou shall have no gods before me "
Then there's the one about Idols. Unfortunately, Wicca has a lot of those.

That's not to say that the blending of the two faiths hasn't been done before. How do you think we got The Easter bunny?

I suppose if you followed the traditions of Wicca with the Purpose and focus to God, it could be done. But I'd be really careful about it. You're entering a political ' hot zone ' for religion.

John 14:6 says I am the way the truth and the life noone comes to the Father but by me.

Mat 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
Jos 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

READ THIS ANSWER - ITS A REAL ONE:
Beliefs and life practice can be very different things. For example - i can tell you alot of things about, say Britney Spears or Michael Jordan - but i can't say that i know either of them personally. Beliefs need to become convictions and life principles for them to start affecting the way that we live our lives.
SO HERES MY POINT: - you may have been raised a Catholic but without having spent time in getting to personally know Jesus via prayer and time getting into the Word of God (the bible) you will keep coming up against big questions like this for your life.
Questions that are very real but ones that really will seem simple once you get into that real relationship with Jesus.
Its like standing at a giant door with what you want/need behind it but not even trying to open it.
In direct answer to your question. No, its not actually permissable to practice withcraft and engage in a relationship with Jesus. Hell - i would dare say its not even POSSIBLE - my reason for saying this is that the Bible says pretty clearly that God is pure and holy - (2 Corinthians 6:14) that means that nothing is dark or tainted about Him - it even goes to the extent of saying that where God is there CAN BE NO darkness - God's good -anything that isn't God's way or style He distances Himself from.
The Bible refers to divination and sorcery which God forbids (heres some references so that you can check it out for yourself - 1 Samuel 28 verse 1 onwards - it talks about King Saul consulting a witch at a place called endor, and then also Acts 8 vs 9 onwards - it talks about a guy called Simon the sorcerer and how Jesus' closest friends related to him).
The problem with divination or withcraft or wicca - no matter if its green or white or black is that it tries to tap into the power of God without going through God.
God is a great God, loving and dynamic, fun and vibrant but is also adamant on getting the praise and attention He deserves.
Get this but - the supernatural power of God is available to you in abundance! - Ephesians 1.3 says that God has made available to His people all things in the spiritual realms.
Wicca is just a dim reflection - a very poor substitute for the power of God. You will find that engaging in it will bring your life down, you will start to feel detached from life, distant from your dreams and purpose and non fulfilled in the things that you do. It may seem exciting at first but will without fail cause your life to take a downward turn.
Relationship with God however will bring life and abundance to your world. You will feel uplifted, excited and engaged with your world. It will be like all the colours are brighter, your food tastes better, friendships work, things work out for you .... ALL of life will be ENHANCED!
So heres my hot tip - drop the wicca, and start getting to know Jesus in a personal way. You will not be let down or left wondering! It will change your world! Then you will understand the way that power is meant to be involved in our lives. We use the word SUPERNATURAL to describe these sorts of things - but the truth is they should be just NATURAL. God wants to take your natural and attach His 'super' to it.
Have a great day!
