OK I have to make a biodome for school that can support life using a real animal (a level 2 trophic animal) and live plants for a least a month. I'm thinking about using a newt but i dont know what they eat and what they need to survive (water, light, food, ect.) But the thing is I don't know enough about biodomes to do it so im asking for some help from some of you sciences wizzes or real scientists that know something about biodomes.

From the two real bio domes, scientists realized that mimicking ecosystem services are neither easy to do, or cheep to duplicate and OVER TIME are marred with a myriad of problems. That is why we need to take care of the one giant bio dome we call spaceship earth.

Note: What you are proposing to do is nothing more than a terrarium, where as you will have to provide all ecosystem services.

Go simple not the entire earth. Ant farms and earthworms come to mind.
