It's so interesting that you happened to ask this question right now because I just happened to read a very informative article on this very subject. Here are some excerpts:

"The list of those charged with being the antichrist is a long one. In the past, those labeled 'antichrist' included Jews, the Catholic papacy, and Roman emporers...The Apostle John is the only Bible writer to use the word 'antichrist.' In two of the letters bearing his name, the word appears five times, in both the singular and the plural. The verses in which the word appears" are as follows:

1 John 2:18; 1 John 2:22; 1 John 4:3; 2 John 7

"From these verses, we can see that the antichrist is a liar and a deceiver, bent on destroying a person's relationship with Christ and with God. Accordingly, the apostle urged his fellow Christians: 'Beloved ones, do not believe every inspired expression, but test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God, because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.' (1 John 4:1)

Jesus too warned against deceivers, or false prophets, saying, 'They come to you in sheep's covering, but inside they are ravenous wolves. By their fruits [or, works] you will recognize them.' (Matthew 7:15, 16)

...'Antichrist' means 'against (or instead of) Christ.' So in its broadest sense, the term refers to all who oppose or lyingly claim to be the Christ or his representatives. Jesus himself said: 'He that is not on my side is against me [or is antichrist], and he that does not gather with me scatters.' - Luke 11:23

...Because Jesus' disciples are persecuted 'on account of his [Jesus'] name,' the persecutors are clearly antichrist, against Christ. The 'false prophets,' some of whom were once Christians, are also in that category. (2 John 7) These 'many antichrists,' wrote John, 'went out from us, but they were not of our sort; for if they had been of our sort, they would have remained with us.' - 1 John 2:18, 19

The words of both Jesus and John plainly indicated that the antichrist is not a single person but is made up of many individual antichrists. Moreover, because they are false prophets, one of their main objectives is religious deception. What are some of their devices?"

The articles goes on and additional subheadings read, "Spreading Religious Lies," "Antichrists Reject God's Kingdom," "The Antichrist 'Tickles Ears,'" and "Test the Inspired Expressions."

If you would like to read the whole article, you can email me and I'll send it to you. I'm sure you'd find it very interesting and informative.

I wish you well!

Question: "Who is the antichrist?"

Answer: 1 John 4:3 tells us, "but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world." There is much speculation about the identity of the antichrist. Some of the more popular targets are Vladimir Putin, Jacques Chirac, Prince Charles of England, and Pope Benedict XVI. In the United States, former President Bill Clinton and current President George Bush are the most frequent speculations. So, who is the antichrist, and how will we recognize him?

The Bible really does not say anything specific about where the antichrist will come from. Many Bible scholars speculate that he will come from a confederacy of ten nations and/or a reborn Roman empire (Daniel 7:24-25; Revelation 17:7). Others see him as being a Jew since he would have to be in order to claim to be the Messiah. It is all just speculation since the Bible does not specifically say where the antichrist will come from or what race he will be. One day, the antichrist will be revealed. 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 tells us how we will recognize the antichrist, "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming himself to be God."

I suspect that most people who are alive when the antichrist is revealed will be very surprised at his identity. The antichrist may or may not be alive today. Martin Luther was convinced that the pope in his time was the antichrist. Others who have lived in the past few hundred years have been equally sure as to the identity of the antichrist. So far, they have all been incorrect. I believe we should put the speculations behind us, and focus on what the Bible actually says about the antichrist. Revelation 13:5-8 declares, "The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise his authority for forty-two months. He opened his mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. He was given power to make war against the saints and to conquer them. And he was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. All inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast-all whose names have not been written in the book of life belonging to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world."

sparkel-1 nailed it.
1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that Antichrist shall come, even now are there many Antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.
2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

to be against christ is to be anti, anti-christ. that is all it is. plain and simple

The antichrist, according to scripture will

Come out of the fourth beast of Daniel 7 (Rome)
Be a combination of church and state demanding worship
Be a little power
Be a kingdom
Be active in Paul's day yet still be around at the second coming of Christ
Have a reign of terror that lasts 1260 years
Receive a deadly wound
Have that wound healed
Persecute the saints of God
Arise among the nations of Europe
Arise sometime after the fall of Pagan Rome in AD476
Blaspheme God, (claim to be God, or have His attributes)
Be part of a large falling away in the church
Be called the man of sin
Be the beast of Revelation 13:1-10
Be the whore of Babylon
Think to change God's law
Attempt to usurp the authority of Christ (our High Priest)

According to history, only one power matches exactly every characteristic of the antiChrist. The Roman Catholic church. Luther, Melanchthon, Jerome, Huss, Tyndale, Wycliffe, Newton, and countless other reformers believed it and many died for that belief.

Satan cannot have any children, well biologically. The Antichrist is anyone who is against Jesus Christ. But the Bible speaks of more than one Antichrist, but in Revelation 13 it states that there is a beast that will persecute the saints in the last days. This beast power is lead by a man with the number of 666 as his name. See link to find out which power is the beast power:

The anti-christ will be a man, he will be possessed by satan and used by satan. What satan is doing is copying the Holy Trinity. Satan as well as being the deceiver is also the imitator. He has an unholy trinity, satan, the antichrist, and the false prophet. He will use his trinity to deceive the people.

No. Satan is a fallen angel, and he cannot conceive children. The Antichrist is a man, who satan will use, and will become possessed by satan.

The false prophet will be the antichrist's "sidekick". Two separate men.

If you like to read, read the Left Behind series. Good reading, although the characters are fictitious, it will help you gain an understanding on what is going to happen.

The Antichrist is a personification of all those, past, present and future, who are rebellious against God. He is called "Son" of Satan because he was the original rebel and this "Son" (personified) belong to him

Jesus is the Son of God and totally subjected Himself to His Fathers holy will, now as satan delights in apeing God he will possess an ungodly man and through sexual union with a prostitute produce a son who will do the evil will of his father the devil.
