for the past couple of weeks i've been getting really painful headaches. sometimes they won't go away for a few days and i'll wake up in the middle of the night with them. i went to the doctor a few weeks ago and he said they were from a sinus infection and ear infection. it's been a few weeks since then and both are gone and i'm still getting the headaches. last night i got one in the middle of the night and it just hit me and i became dizzy and nauseated. what could this be from? what can i do about it?

It sounds like cluster headaches which are very painful migraines which can come in bouts of up to 6 a day or last continuously for several days then go and come back, go to your doctor and ask if it is cluster headaches, there is medication to control them

I love the bogus answers some people give for this problem. I don't think you have the intestinal fortitude to do this. Mostly young people and old people do this, but people in between complain that they can't do it. What 'it' is is go to the herb shop that sells all natural herbs. Not bottled stuff or in pill form. Get about 4 ounces to start of 100,000 scoville unit(heat units) cayenne powder(chili powder). At home put a quarter to a half a teaspoon in a coffee cup of warm water. Put a little on your tongue, this tells your stomach to start secreting the acids needed to break the cayenne up. After 5 minutes slowly over twenty minutes drink the cayenne water mixture. Cayenne powder has been proven beyond a doubt to help prevent and heal over 11 major diseases and numerous minor ones. It heals ear infections, thins your blood to the consistancy of ink so your brain gets all the oxygen it needs which prevent headaches of any kind. Lowers cholesterol 50 points in three days. Helps prevent prostate, colon and uterine cancers. Heals bad joints, gives more energy than two cups of coffee and lasts longer. Rebuilds the heart muscle and the lining of the stomach. In between drinking the cayenne mixture drink pure bottled water to help the cayenne flush your system of any toxic residue. Drink one cup about every 4 to 6 hours. You will feel the burning sensation when you evacuate for 5 days. When your body gets to the point where it doesn't sweat, your face doesn't turn red and your eyes don't water double the dose you presently use. Keep using this until you are using a teaspoon of cayenne in a coffee cup three times a day and drinking pure water or organic fruit juices in between. When you get to the point as above when you don't sweat, eyes water, turn red you only have to do it once a week. You will feel tremendously better and have more energy at the end of a long work or school day than you have ever had before. And you won't catch the flu or get a cold while doing this either. May fortune smile upon you always.

You could be suffering from Migraines, cluster headaches, or even mixed headaches.
Because you are getting dizzy and nauseated, I would almost bet on migraines.
I suffer from them most times, they cripple me. Even the smallest of light or sound really hurts, I get dizzy, and I get nauseated, the last two usually hit right before my head hurts.
I guess you could also have headaches that are stress induced or you may need to have your eyes examined.
Start a log, if you can of all your symptoms and describe the pain as best you can, then take the log to your doctor. This will help him in determining what type of headaches you are suffering from.
One more thing, you could take a supplement called magnesium which will increase blood flow-sometimes, your blood vessels can get restricted which will cause headaches, taking this supplement will help increase blood flow-

Dizziness and nausea sounds like you still have an inner ear disturbance. I would see my Ear Nose and Throat Dr. again.

Headaches can be hormonal or you may have a pinched nerve in your neck.

A Chiropractic adjustment can take care of any maladjustment you have going on. The adjustment can clear up headaches and some inner ear disturbances.

If I sleep on a pillow that doesn't suit my neck I can get headaches in my sleep.

Good luck finding a solution.

I had the same problem, I had a headache for a week. I finally went to the chiropractor and my neck was out of place. He put it back and the headache went away. I would check with a chiropractor before going back to a doctor. I hope you feel better soon!

I've had these kind of headaches for years. My doctor's response is always, "Oh, that's too bad," followed by him ignoring it. (I'm looking for a new doctor.) I'm fairly certain that they're migraines, especially since migraines run in my family. The only type of medication that I have found to work is Excederin Migraine. However, if you react badly to caffeine, do NOT take these and see a doctor.

you better take care of it soon, it sounds like mirgrain and it can come down to your face. not to scare you but it's true, my mother has had these pains since 18 yrs. old and the dr. would tell her the same as you were told and now that she is 53 it came down to her face and it's very painful she says. the best you can do is to ask your dr. or go to a specialist for BOTOX INJECTIONS but these are very expensive it will cost you up to $900 a month or so. this does help.

A lot of things can cause headaches. Hypertension for one, your eyes - do you wear glasses - allergies, it can be something bad - not that you should worry, just letting you know - go to a different Doctor if this one tells you nothing else is wrong.

You need to not toy with this....even though it may be nothing, you need to tell your doctor about it, now that your sinus infection & ear infection is gone. The head is nothing to mess around with.
Good Luck
