What's the difference between roasting and baking?
They are the same technique but the term roasting applies primarily to meats and vegetables and the term baking is used for things like bread and pastries. For instance, you wouldn't say, "I roasted some cookies today," even thought from a technical perspective that is what you did.

Roasting is a wet process baking is a dry one as in baked potatoes versus roast potatoes

Please note that Devil and Ghosts are different and I think you have got confused in your question. – Though both Devil and Ghost have certain similarity and most people also belive that they both are same, they are different. Many religions belive in Ghosts. Many fairy tales and moral stories in our culture talk about ghosts and they are mentioned in the tales. It is also mentioned that the persons.It is believed that the dead persons who can not find a proper place after life due to untimely death remain in the world and roam as Ghost or Paeyi or Bhootham . Whereas- Devil mostly believed to be a powerful supernatural being combined with evil and bad aspects and always worked as enemy to Human and Gods. Devil is always termed as Asura and connected and talked as a person who does not acknowledge your god. Many believe that devil are demons who instigate human to commit evil deeds. In many cultures devils are used as symbol representing an abstract idea. Devils are not the spirits or Ghost of dead and they are like mini gods with certain powers. The above are the facts but we all may or may not have belief in these. -

Roasting- involves elements outside the entree that aid in cooking. such as water or an oil
Baking -everything is enclosed in the entree to make it cook.

baking something is heat from the bottom, when the roaster is on the heat is from the top and bottom, it is hotter and faster.
