Yes. You should have taken action.
You didn't do anything thing wrong but the problem is just that, you didn't do anything. It is understandable why you didn't, but even asking this question provides you with the answer: yes, you should have acted.

Discrimination is a crime against everyone - all the races, genders, cultures, and ideas. There are no sides to take, no gray area. Either you stand against all it's forms or you don't care and therefore have no right to complain when such an act is committed upon you. Only you can decide which you believe.

You should have done something. If you were afraid to get involved you could have at least called for help. It's not nice to leave someone in that situation. You wouldn't have felt good seeing someone walk away while you were getting beat up badly 3 to 1. Next time do the right thing and help in some way. You never know when it will be you who will be in desperate need for help.

You should have done something. How would you feel if someone was beating you 3-1 and you saw someone just walk away. They could have killed that kid. You could have at least called the cops. Maybe next time you will do the right thing.

Yes you probably should have. I can understand that you were afraid to not act- but the fact that you are questioning this means that next time you see something like this happen you should step up and do something. 3 guys against one is terrible no matter what the reason for the fight was.

You should have done SOMETHING. Im not saying you should have jumped in to help, but even a simple yell "Hey, Im calling the cops!" probably would have stopped it.
