If you have at least a 16 to 20 quart roaster, then you'lll be fine.....the turkey will come out beautifully and with no hassle.....JUST DON'T LIFT THE LID WHILE IT'S COOKING''......while using a roaster, if you have the inserts, it also makes great stews and gravys and chilis....just brown the meat first, and let it simmer (whatever your fav recipe is for your chili) and you're right, using a roaster will give you the extra space while you prepare the other dishes, and you don't have to screw around with basing the beast every now and then...that's the beauty of a roaster.....and if ya think is just for turkey, think again...........toss a couple of bonless chuck roasts in there (when you've had you fill of turkey) with some carrots , potatoes and onion with a couple of cans of beef broth and one can of water and cover it for 10 hours....will be a fall- of - the -fork meal.............

I easily have roasted my filled turkey in a roaster three times & it got here out high quality. the only element that i do is while the turkey is finished I placed it in my oven interior the roasting pan & brown the perfect of it as in my journey it does no longer seem to brown interior the roaster. It takes approximately 20 min. or with the intention to try this.

Treat the Roaster just like your oven, the only thing is put the rake in so the bird won't lay on the bottom where there's a heating element. 350 15min. per lb good to go

What about it? That's how I cooked mine last year. Bird was great and the oven was free for side dishes.
