My guy who's in his late 30's talks to his mother openly about breast feeding & womens external mucus and things like that. Am I the only woman who feels unfomfortable when he talks to his mother about these things when I am arround? Or would any of you men talk to your Mom about these things? Are they intimate issues or just a normal topic to discuss with your parents? I need your input.

Depends how he was raised...I knew a guy who was very close to his mum and she had him at a very young age too. They had a relationship more like they were friends than mother and son and they talked about everything. She was his best friend. i didn't think it was weird, she was one cool lady, the kind of mum you could take out clubbing with you. She just raised him to be totally open with her about everything and that if he needed advice she was the one to ask. Don't get too freaked about it, he was just obviously raised differently to you, that's all.

Everyone is different - my husband talks openly with his mum and his dad. I wasnt brought up like that and found it strange at first but over the years I've got used to it - its not weird, its just being honest and open. My daughter has just had a baby and she and her partner talk to me and my husband in the same open way - nothing wrong with that xxx

Hmmm its how these conversations start that would worry me! Why on earth would ANY sane person want to have a conversation with anybody about mucas? Especially when its just a conversation starter, not even as if he is seeking her help or advice! You need to explain to him that it makes you uncomfortable, but you need to ask him why he feels the need to talk about these things in the first place.

hhmm its tough cos i talk to my mum about all kinds of personal things but would never imagine my brothers doing quite the same. my ex nd his mum have a lovely relationship, maybe cos his dad left them years ago so its just the 2 of them, dunno but anyway, i think its lovely the way they get on.

maybe u only think its weird cos its not so usual that mum/son are so close. my dad died when i was 11 so i dont know what a daughter/dad relationship is like but if i was u -i'd be greatful that ur bf and his mum are so close, that they have such an open relationship and can talk maturely about everything! maybe u could talk to ur bf and tell him it makes u feel bit uncomfy, just be careful not to offend!!

I think it's a bit weird. But everyone's relationship with their mum is different so he probably doesn't find it weird.

His Mum's probably a hippy and brought him up that way. As long as he's not shagging her as well, I wouldn't worry about it.
