Up stairs yes, down stairs no.
Combine it with a low fat, low sodium, low calorie diet...and it will work like any other exercise. Effort brings results. Make your work out harder and harder each day, if it is easy you aren't working hard enough.

taking the stairs yes.. but just don't run up and down the steps for 30 minutes at one time...
30 minutes over all for the day accumulative walking and stairs... so on other manual activity is good enough.

yes its a great way. i would get tired of doing that for 20-30 minutes a day so i would add in other things such as jump rope or the tredmill.

Yes and the step up action will strengthen your legs, but you also need something to strengthen your upper body as well liked push ups or chin ups

its definatley a good idea because its cardio and gets you heart going. with this you need to eat better to see results. the key is to stick with it. i must tell you, i have tried this and it gets really boring and will be hard to stick to
