why? it's up to you whether or not you wish to go to church..
it's a freedom...
if you don't want to.. believe me.. you're not going to hell... if you want to.. have fun.. participate in more than just going.. i mean if you're going to go.. go all the way... do the lunches.. do the community efforts.. the gatherings.. teaching and so on.

You are supposed to do what you believe is right. Going to church because you were forced to...serves no purpose. If you want to get closer to God and learn more about him and praise him, then you should go to church. But if you just go because you feel like you "have to", then stop wasting your time, God already knows that you don't want to be there. It says in the Bible that God would rather you be cold than lukewarm.

You should do what you feel is right for you. Church is not for everyone. Personally i think bible study is much more educational and interesting. If your young your parents might expect you to go to church but even then they dont have a right to force you to go. I myself was raised Catholic now im agnostic. If you have time read the link.(its long but worth the read) I personally believe organized religion is man made. Just like any thing else.

The Bible says "Do not forsake the assembly, as some are in the habit of doing," so that leads me to believe that God is telling the followers of Christ to attend church -- not just to learn more about God and His will for our lives, but to be edified and uplifted by fellow believers.

God says yes......there are so many things you will learn if you just go. How can you talk about and love God if you don't know him?
Worship with fellow lovers of God and pray together..associate together.....play together.....talk to others about God together....Gods plan is for the meek to inherit the earth...you will put on a new and approved personality once you know what God requires of you.

only if you want to cuz God is already in your head and the church lives in your heart and soul....i wouldn't worry about "supposed to" cuz earthly people aren't your judges, only He is.
