Could we defeat them? Yes we could. Do we currently have the balls to jump in a furball with them and stick it out to the win? No, we do not. Witness Iraq and all the mewling and whining even after it was carefully explained that it would be a long, expensive process.

Should we? No. All we need do is show that we have the guts and determination to finish what we started in Iraq, they will back off.

I do not believe we should even consider an Iranian invasion. First of all, we no longer have an army combat capable of extended operations in Afghanistan and Iraq. That opinion is courtesy of the Pentagon. Secondly, it would take most of our existing army to maintain successful operations in Iran. Third, an invasion there could well pull much of the Mid East into the conflict.

It may be time to dust off a weapon that we have not used in a long, long time. It was successful once and it could work again. It may be time to try diplomacy.

i watched the same program last nite,

what i got from the show is that Iran and the U.S. are more similar then differnt.
and no we shouldn't invade, like the program said ivading iran would only make iran stronger,
the reason: the government of iran ( much like the US governmet) is running a propaganda campaign, they say that the Us is evil, and that the us wants to invade and kill the people of iran. if we invade iran, we will be proving them right.
just like in the us, there are people in iran that oppose the governments policies, if we invade we will undermine that movement.
it would be like a reverse 9-11.

the difference though, is that for them, the war is at home, they will outnumber us by alot. did you see that segment on people signing up to be maryters ( suicide bombers)
look at irans recruiting pool, then look at the U.S.'s.

us invading Iran right now would be the equivilant of Hitler invading Russia in world War two.

Only if we want to start WW3. It is stupid to do so. invading iraq was even stupider, the only thing is Iran says we do have chemical and biological weapons, and we will use them on you! Anypne of you out there that has ever been in the army knows that you are lucky to get a gas mask that is even the right size, let alone a working one!

No. No invasion needed. Turn Iran's major cities into glass from high altitude. Block the borders and control the seas. No invasion needed. These are not people that need or want freedom. No sense trying to help them find it.

If we could only turn the power of the media to our advantage, we could get them to declare that Iran is a peaceful, freedom loving country with no nuclear ambitions, and it would be so.

At least, the world would believe it, and that would be the same thing.

We're bogging down in Iraq and Afghanistan (remember Afghanistan? The Taliban? They don't get too much press lately) I don't think that we'd do a whole lot better by invading Iran now.

no - they should carpet bomb them - do it right this time - if there are any terrorists left then send in airborne and seals - sas etc to finish them off . 3000 american servicemen and 20 000 casualties is too much loss for iraq

We could defeat them, but diplomacy until exhausted should be the first order of business.
