Right now it is like a light golden brown color and i want it darker. i was thinking getting dark brown and dark auburn lowlights. what do you think i should do? im open to more ideas but i cant leave it because the roots are growing back. my natural color is dark brown with a hint of auburn so i want something close to that

Then go auburn. Simple enough.

Auburn would look nice..probably stick with lowlights as when you dye your hair red, the roots REALLY show up! Brown with lowlights won't be so obvious as it grows out.
