I don't think a solid number should be set. However, as illegal immigration as I proudly am, there are a lot of people here illegally and at least some of those people are good working people with no criminal record. There's no practical or moral reason to boot productive people in society.
That said, some gang members do exist, drug dealers, etc. As an independent nation we have the right and responsibility to deport those who do have a criminal record.
This applies to anyone of any national origin, I single no one out. I feel the US has the soverign right to set quality standards for those who stay. If we continue allowing anyone to come waltzing into the US the only other option will be an eventual police state, coupled with more gov't control of the economy.
I can think of nothing more tragic.

I would vote no because all 100 %are illegal.Who decides who the 50% would be.You would have a riot on your hands I'm sure from the deported others.

Legislators hope to have new immigration bills, and the results could be costly for employers, even those who have never employed illegal workers.

The House version of immigration reform focuses entirely on protecting our borders. The bill would require 700 miles of double-layer fencing along the Mexico border, order mandatory detention of all illegal immigrants and increase the fine for employing illegal immigrants to $40,000 for each violation.

The Senate version also emphasizes border protection, though it calls for only 370 miles of fencing. It also would authorize hiring 15,000 new border patrol agents in addition to the current force of 11,300, increase penalties to employers to $20,000 per violation and subject repeat offenders to up to 30 years of jail time.

Additionally, the Senate bill would declare English the country’s national language and includes amnesty provisions. Specifically, it would allow illegal immigrants who have been in the United States for five or more years to eventually become legal, permanent residents and citizens after paying at least $3,250 in fines and fees, paying back taxes and learning English.
,
Id like to see how they would prove thier being here 5 years.and thats 5 years of back taxes they would have to pay.How many illegals do you think have that much money on hand to pay it ??Just wondering ?

No. And your question is weird and strikes me as a bit racist, even though I know you're hunting for racism in others. My answer is still no, and you can think it means whatever you want it to mean. Are you aware that all illegals are not hispanic and all hispanics are not illegal? I am.

I notice that your question doesn't say anything about deporting the other fifty percent. Does that mean they all stay in your scenario but fifty percent become legal? What kind of deal is that for us?

Don't bring race into this debate. It never has, never will have any thing to do with race. Every one that is a citizen of this country should be treated as equals. We can not ever let ourselves be divided by our race, religion, creed, or orientation.

Every one that is a citizen of this country is a American first, it is that simple.

United we stand,Divided we fall .

I'm white and of voting age. Yes I would vote for that BUT ONLY if we put ALL the illegals in a cage and let them fight it out. To the death! When there is only 50% left they are the winners!

i'm assuming you mean the greencard lottery. And no, someone must be of their residing house us of a to win the lottery. in case you enter it and they locate you the following, you're deported and banned. in case you go away the U. S. to enter the greencard lottery, you're ineligible because you've gotten a ban. that is not a thanks to grow to be legal. purely thanks to grow to be legal is to go away, do the time one the ban, and then re enter legally.

Let's say ALL the illegal aliens got up, and went home. LEGAL immigration ONLY. Let the pro-illegals take their social engineering schemes and inflict them(selves) on someone else's country.
