my wee boy 15 months has got 8 teeth at the front top and bottom and he is cutting his back teeth.but where these teeth should be there is black under the gums.
i am a 1st time mum and think this is abnormal but need to be sure!will visit a dentist tomorrow but need to know now so i know what to do!!!
anything will help????

Frankly, I wouldn't hold much store in what this forum is telling you as the answers you get are not really going to add much value and set your mind at rest. I would suggest hold faith in the fact that he is not ill and displaying odd symptoms until you see your dentist tomorrow.

Now since you are a 1st time mom you should consult with your child doctor and let him or her know your concerns. Its probably nothing, try not to worry so much well not just yet. Let the Doc check it out and then go from there.

Sounds to me like bruising from the teeth pushing up and/or teething toys. The doctor will be able to give you a full diagnosis, but i doubt it's serious.

the degree of coloration of gums varies...he may and may not be having a problem.the best thing is just to see the dentist...but dont panic he will be alright.

You need to go to the doctor because it is not normal for babies to have black gums.

If your baby is not black, like you know black father I don`t think his gums should be black. Do see the denist and don`t panic.
