do you think it's better to take things slow, when you really like someone or should you just let loose and show your affection for them. if guys respect a girl who holds back more than someone who gives it up, then its safe to say that guys like to be kept waiting on sex, right. whats your opinion on this?

Of all the relationships I've had, the ones where sex happened on one of the first dates has never lasted long. Without a doubt, I have to say get to know each other first.
It's ok if you're making out and such on the first couple dates, but I'm old school when it comes to sex. Wait until you're sure they're worth it!

I guess it's down to the individual. I mean, in the UK it's legal, but that doesn't make it right for everyone! I think it's "okay" when you're ready, and think you've found the person you want to spend the rest of your life with. I'm not really sure if a teenage guy would still respect her, but ideally, if you're having sex with someone, i'm hoping you would have planned to stay with THAT guy, and he'd obviously respect her, because it was him she lost her virginity with. You'll get a lot of different answers though, but I believe 16 is too young as well. No way are people properly comfortable enough with their bodies, their partner, and ready for the consequences at 16. Just my thoughts :)

I think you should have asked do NICE guys respect girls when they dont give up sex right away.
Obviously from these answers nice guys do respect you if you wait and say NO. Scumbags want you to have sex as soon as possible. So take your pick. I'd strongly suggest going with the nice guys.

i think they respect u more when u wait. from what i have seen adn from what my boyfriend tells me. he used to be the type who would just hit it and quit it and like when i came a long i was different. i was a virgin and everyone kept telling me he was going to just use me and then leave well i didnt wouldnt have sex with him at all i would just tell him i wasnt ready well he now tells me that that is what attracted him to me adn why he stayed around. now we have been together for two years. and are about to have a baby. so i think that they respect u more if u wait. if u just give it up they r just using u. and he probably wont stick around and if u really like him and he leaves u because u wont have sex with him then u should find someone else b/c who wants to be in a relationship when it just revolves around sex?

I know that a guy respects a girl more when they take it slow in a relationship mainly because if you keep him waiting he going to want to get to know you a lot more because you got what he want.

A good man who loves you and really cares about you and not sex.Is the best thing, the man that I found is awesome he said I just want to know everything about you.This way the one you love turns into your absolute best friend.And than you never want to be apart.Absolutely this is the way to go.Cause a man who don't want to wait really don't care about you.He cares only for taking care of the thing in his pants.The absolute best thing you can do is wait for that special one that wants to know you.To laugh with you cry with you and to be there for you when nobody else is.Your best friend will be there and even when you get mad at him or upset he will always be there for you.You want someone who will wait.Not someone who only wants one thing.

Slow can be a good thing. Respect can be earned after the fact, but not to the same level as earning it up front. Keep your legs tight, your head high and your eyes open. ...and about the timeing...you'll know.

Slow is OK. But not too slow. We like to find out pretty soon if the girl is worth putting the effort into. If it takes too long then we feel she might be too much trouble for nothing.
