Yes the reason being much more of the retina responds to the light stimulation than in an individual with darker eyes. This is because light is reflected off of the unpigmented or less pigmented choroid layer resulting in overstimulation of the retinal cells and vision problems (sensitivity being the most affected).

People with lighter colored eyes will probably also have light colored skin and therefore less melanin which protects your skin from sunlight. Darker skinned people has more melanin, but can still get sundamage. So...lets just say people with lighter skin, no matter what their eye color, will be more sensitive to sunlight. Godloveya.

Yes I have blue eyes and sometimes I am squinting and everyone else says that it isn't even bright out. I asked my biology professor and she also said that it has to do with pigmentation in your eyes. In the end wear polarized sunglasses all the time because you can get wrinkles from squinting!
