Forget all the crackpot advice about playing dumb and claiming he didnt know. Bottom line is people have tried to use that to con the police, if no-one admits liability the registered keeper of the car will be prosecuted.

I think you can refuse as the owner of the vehicle to give the driver detail on the grounds of self incrimination
Not too sure just how far this will get you though
Good luck and keep to the limit in future
Get a "Snooper" Expensive but quite reliable

ok my friend listen in...............
First thing, and most important, you need to do is ask for the photo...check for quality.....can you tell who it is?
if all three of you were in the car at the same time, Bingo, you can claim you didnt know who was driving at the time......and you you will get a day out in court to watch the judge fcuk the prosecution in the ***.
Think i'm talking chit? i refer you to the public verses the Hamiltons, they were on a long journey and took it in turns to drive, the disgraced lying politician "CLAIMED" they did not know who was driving at the time.(Yeh right)
Be careful...... if it was just one person in the car and you say you dont know who was driving they will investigate as to the where abouts of the other insured drivers at the time of the incident. I just read in a bike magazine that a fella said his spanish friend, note: didnt know his name or address was driving at the time and he was jailed for perverting the course of justice. personally i would of jailed him for being fcuking stupid.
If that fails....... try this:
If the fine is for £30....pay by cheque for the amount of £31, its important that you pay by cheque.
The taliban will send you a cheque for the over payment of £1.
Now what do you do with it?....well my friend through in the bin and the transaction can never be completed....hence no points ...no money loss.
This 2nd point is only a theory discussed in Bike magazine as we biker's seem to be the focus from the traffic taliban at every opportunity.
Would be interested to know if you give it a go and you post the results on here.

if you never received the ticket within 14 days, you can say that you cannot remember who was driving. Reply back to them stating this and they should drop the charges. They only have 14 days to send out a ticket, but you have to give them leway, if it was July, you play the dumb and as above, you will be ok

Ask for a face photo, explain that you had lent the car to a mate who has immigrated to a far land, and It was probably his. This may work if he has no points due to priors.
Good luck. I hate the cameras too.

I got one of those speeding tickets in the mail before. But I only had to pay a fine, there were no points against me for it. I would check to make sure they didnt just fine you. But maybe its different state to state. Because my ticket did show my plates and my face!

if you can't work it out, the person who the car's registerred to will get the points, but they can give 6 instead of three, and fine up to a grand for wasting police time. from their point of view, it's the registerred keeper's responsibility to know who's driving the car at any particular time...
i reckon the best way is to work out which of oyu has least points, get them to admit it and buy him a coupla pints!
you CAN ask for pictures, but quite ofetn they're taken from behind or the glare stops you from seeing the driver's face...
