I love my sister, we are best friends, though she's younger than me, but she seems to want to hang out all the time. I don't mind it too much but sometimes I would like to chill alone or not have her go through my stuff all the time. Sometimes she just leaves my stuff all over the place, like some of my dirty underwear, I have no clue why she had them and why she left em in the living room, I was embarrased, but that's another story. How do I tell her to give me some space and not to go through my stuff without hurting her feelings or making her angry at me?

You must be my sister. JK Lol. My sister and I have the same problem. She always tells me to back off and I don't care. I'll play with her when she wants it. If I sense she's getting tense I'll leave her alone.

I am the older sister though. Maybe you guys could spend a day or two a week together? Then she wouldn't have to be in your face *all the time*.

It's great that you guys get along well though! Be greatful for that!

Just sit her down..try to explain to her that your a teen..and all teens need their time alone. And privacy. Politely ask her to not go through your stuff...Don't worry to much about making her angry..she'll get over it. Set a rule...when the door is shut...she's not allowed to come in...if it's open...she needs to knock to let you know she's there...and then it's ok to come in.... I think the way you worded it in your question is just fine. "I don't mind it most of the time, but sometimes I would just like to chill alone for a while." Explain to her that she embarrased you...I'm certain that's not what she had in mind...and if she likes being around you that much..she's not gonna want you upset with her. Even if you do hurt her feelings....they won't stay hurt, and your relationship will be stronger in the end. Good luck!!

Talk to your sister and tell her how you fell. Also, tell her how she would feel if you done the exact same thing as she did. Your sister needs to understand that you need your privacy and you're entitled to it and she needs to respect that. Good luck!

ask her nicely to not go through your things. If that does not work ask her if she would like it if you go through her things. Her feelings should not be hurt after all its your personal property
