Islamic terrorism has nothing to do with poverty. The Muslim terrorists are all educated and come from middle class families. Osama Bin Laden’s inheritance was a quarter of a billion dollars. His lieutenants are doctors and engineers. This claim that Muslims become terrorists because of poverty is a myth propagated by the leftists who see the solution to every problem in social engineering – take the money from the rich and make everyone equally poor. This is their panacea.

Muslim terrorists are motivated by their religious belief. One of the terrorists of London bombing (Mohammad Sidique Khan) left a tape in which he said:

I and thousands like me are forsaking everything for what we believe. Our drive and motivation doesn't come from tangible commodities that this world has to offer. Our religion is Islam, obedience to the one true God and following the footsteps of the final prophet. (This is the truth coming from the mouth of the horse.)

Look at every rich people in the country. See who has the most and observe how he lives his life in fear of going down the limelight. He secure his house, he makes it gated and if it is not guarded by human services, it is well equipped with cameras that may report and show the presence of an outside force. The owner goes out with guards and a bullet proof car. These are the kind of people who keeps track of their economic condition so that they could maintain their status in life. These are also sometimes the kind of people who hires other people to clean their mess and erase whatever dirt they leave behind so that their dirt remains unseen.
In the case of Osama Bin Laden and his cohorts, it is obvious that they need something more than what they have. Money is not enough and they want power and control to make people move according to their wishes. Yes it is not poverty that moves them, they used it as their excuse to work on their greeds and they used their religion because they know that Islam stands for Submission and total obedience to God and it is easy to convince the innocents and simple believers for the cause that is hidden behind their evil agendas. If they are really warriors of God they should not destroy buildings or places filled with innocent people including those that believe in Islamic faith. They should not be hiding behind the skirts of their women and children blending with the crowds inside the mosques, residences, markets or malls and use them as shield when they are being targeted. They never faced the enemy, they are always the traitors who shoots from the back if not from afar. Like in Palestine, they only showed their bravery on one captured Israeli soldier by ganging up on him because his hands are tied as they throw him out of the building for the mobs to feast on him making sure he is dead to prevent him from fighting back.

I think poverty is a huge contributor. Notice that Osama and all his cronies are not actually the suicide bombers themselves? They just talk the young, uneducated people into doing what they have no intention of doing themselves, suicide. They convince these young men, sometimes still kids, that they're doing a good thing, murdering innocent people and committing suicide, and that God will actually reward them for it. Yes, they're gullible, but these guys come from poor, uneducated areas, they're desperate to escape the poverty they see everyday. Desperate people are gullible people. Personally, I think there's a special place in hell for those terrorists who brainwash these kids.

This argument does not rest on any idea that Abraham or Moses observed specifically Islamic rituals, but on the idea that they were prophets of the True Faith which was restored by Mohammed after it was corrupted by Jews and Christians.
