Is it how often he calls?
What he says?
How can you tell if its a casual relationship he wants, or if he is seeking a more meaningful long term one?

dose he put the same amount of effort into the relationship as you?
dose he put you before himself?
is he actively seeking out ways to make shure you are happy/having fun?
Someone who is serous about a relationship is proactive not inactive - and is willing to make sacrefices. Put him to the test - don't see each other or talk for a week and ask him to Waite for you no questions asked. if he wates for you he is committed if he runs to another girl obviously you went that important to him.

When a man is first smitten with you is the most comical period in a dating situation. The men have this dazed, happy look on their face and its reserved for you. When you come around they cannot deny you anything they want to be associated with you so badly.
He may not call often, but he may not get off of the phone either. He may want to make commentary on things taking place in the world, watch a movie with you on television, etc.
Sometimes, you really can't tell by the conversation content, because some of them try to feel you out without revealing their feelings.
Ask him if he wants one and to what degree. If he wants to get involved he'll tell you.

The fact that you have asked this question probably shows that you already know some of the signs to look out for. And it probably is not a good sign with you asking this question. I think you just need to be more aware of the things you said like how often he calls or what he says. Then you will know if he wants a more meaningful relationship or just a casual one. Sorry I couldn't be more help than that.

The fact that he wants to spend time with you is always a positive sign but if that time involves just jumping into bed and then off he goes then that's just a convenience thing. A guy is interested if he makes eye contact (avoiding eye contact is always a distrustful sign), wants to spend quality time with you, is interested in you as a person, is not slow in showing any affection for you in public or private (ie by holding your hand or cuddling). That normally means you're heading in the right direction for a meaninful relationship.
If it's a quick roll in the hay and you don't see or hear from him for days on end until he rings for another roll around then he's using you for his own convenience.

A good way to look at it is, are you happy with how much he calls, are you happy with the way he treats you, asks how you are, shows interest in what you say.
If he doesn't behave in a way that convinces you he really likes you then you're probably never going to be happy with the way he treats you. If you find his behaviour frustrating or confusing then he is probably not the one for you.

In my opinion, if you need to ask then that says it all! My advice is just chill, men hate pressure, what happens happens, you can't make someone feel more than they do, if he's going to fall for you, he will! If not, so what, there's hundreds of thousands of the damn things out there go get another one!

well, if you think you're pretty good looking, then he could just be another jerk who only wants you for your body, but only some guys are like that. if he buys you alot of stuff, then he probably thinks of it as "investing in the future", and if he likes to learn new stuff about you, then he's most likely wanting to it to be a long term relationship.

There are several ways to know.
Has he;
- bought a gift for you recently
- said he loves you
- introduced you to any of his gf
- taken you on a date
- called you several times today (not a most, at least once)
- helped you solve a problem
- etc
Then, I guess he likes you

if he treats you like a human being is a good sign if he likes you or not because if he treats you like dog then that most likely means he doesn't care you're just a thing to him
