Meaning that if one persons "idea" of religious correctness demands several agreements to make it more appealing then it is more or less "correct" by the number of people agreeing?

i think so. however i think it has more to do with peoples love to antagonize people. other people like to have a real debate. and others are just plane immature.

People, I think, want to have people support their ideas in an attempt to discredit those who oppose their ideas. However, there are extremes in ideology particularly in the religious board where it's mostly just a square-off between fundamentalist Christians and hardcore Atheists (who may not even be hardcore, but become hardcore just to oppose the fundamentalist Christian camp). However, there are some people posting things that are wrong, but are supported by people with similar viewpoints.

I really haven't noticed that. The phrase refers to people who are miserable so they keep complaining and lamenting until everyone around them is miserable too.
