between active duty and reserve we have 2,685,713 troops. Ok we can deploy 500,000 to 1 million troops with the reserve components. (Example: 250,00 active duty and 250,000 reserve same with 1 million 500K a piece) Then Draft 2 million get them trained to switch out every year till the threat is gone. roll on over to Iran with an allied force of 2 million. If N Korea gets any hostile hopefully china will help us for a 3 milliopn allied force and all threats should be neutralized.

There is high unemployment and unemployment causes problems. If the U.S. would turn these guys into soldiers, they would be solving two problems at once without needing more U.S. forces. I think the U.S. should double what they wanted to train from 500,000 (police and soldier combo) that will be trained by the end of the year to one million Iraqis. It would be much cheaper and more effective (the Iraqis have something to lose besides pride). I'm sure the 10,000-25,000 men that are fighting the coalition would have a hard time standing up to 1 million guys even if they were poorly trained.

With 1.4 million active duty personnel (and 1.3 million Reserves/National Guard), you propose that we send that many to Iraq? That would certainly embolden those who hate us to attack where we are then left defenseless.

Would that number includes you? Are you volunteering to join the military, to show your loyalty to our Country?
