A rasp is a file. You must be familiar with the unpleasant noise a file make when something is being smoothed against it. A raspy voice has a similarly unpleasant edge. When you hear a raspy voice you have an urge to rush forward with a supply of throat lozenges!

It's a voice that sounds kind of rough and well raspy. It can be caused by sickness (laryngitis) or can be a physical attribute. Think of the singer Macy Gray who has a very raspy singing voice.

Remember on Friends when Pheobie had her "sexy flem voice"? It helped her sing? I think that is Raspy. It's hot on some people, but if it gets bad it can be like old smoker lady voice. That's less hot.

Nice back.

Different translations of the bible would suggest love and charity are synonmus. Examples found in.1st Corrinthians ch. 13 vs. 1-17 illustrate this many times. I would enjoy hearing from a scholar of the languages used in those past times to clarify my understanding. The story of the "World's Poorest Philanthropist", Gilbert "Harold" Ewing II (myself) is the reason for this querry. The " act of grace", or charity, reffered to in the news interview, has posited this question and I lack the sort of education to provide any insights of true value.
