That depends on the category, which you are applying for.
Permanent Residentship: Fill out expression of interest (Online) get invitation, get your qualification acknowledged, get PR
Work to Residence: You must have needed skills and proove them, you will get work visa / permit and be invited to apply for PR after 2 yrs.
Work visa / permit: Many possibilities to get that. will be too hard to explain here.
Work Holiday Visa: You're under 30, have a return ticket and can show, that you will have enough money to care for yourself, and come out of a country that qualifies for it.
Travel Visa: From some countries you will get it automatically, from some you have to apply (without fee) and from some you need to apply and pay a fee.
