When someone young dies they generally haven't done anything to horrible. They also don't get a chance to live up to their potential. We lost my stepson in 1997, to arrythmia they say.
They couldn't find anything else, no drugs, no swollen heart from heart attack, fluid in lungs, but they said that came after death. I think he had an asthma attack that they didn't recognize and treat early enough.
Many of his friends are into drugs these days, but they aren't what I would call bad people. Self destructive a bit, and criminal if they get caught, but they still visit us at times, we try to help them without enabling them, and I can trust them entirely. They've spent the night many times and never caused any problems, and I've never missed anything after they're gone. NO DRUGS AT OUR HOUSE. Is really about the only rule that we have etched in stone. They may not respect it (I don't search them), but haven't smelled pot or seen dilated eyes here.
The reason I mention these things is because I would consider them good people, and would mourn them if something happened to one of them. They aren't angels but they are basically pretty good kids.
Three have gone on to college, a few are married and trying to make a living here in MI where it's pretty tough to do right now. Only one has been arrested for anything beyond a misdemeanor, and we kinda expected that would happen.
We still miss my step son, he was bright, usually smiling, loved to hang out with his step brother (my son), and was teaching his 2 year old half brother to move with the rap music he liked.
Maybe I have more reasonable expectations then some, but the experimenting with drugs was just a phase for most of those kids, most have gone on with their lives & may participate a little, but not on a regular basis. Good kids, normal kids that didn't need anyone telling them they were useless because of their use. Told them the dangers, but it's still their choice. My step son died to early, but I still believe he would have been good.

They're needed in heaven to help fight the war between good and evil on Judgement Day. They are currently in Angel Basic Training preparing. LOL. Actually, that's just one theory. Who really knows? I wouldn't wanna find out too soon.....

Be bad, live longer! >:-)
