There are a couple of things that I know from experience. 1-Like me, it could be Thyroid-this affects your memory, sleep, everything: I was working as an account manager and people would be on the phone with me and tell me thier name, as soon as I hung up, I couldn't tell you that person's name to save my life. I am still trying to find a way to get tested for that. 2-another thing that could help you are pills called ginko baliba(something like that), anyway you get them from wal-mart and it really does help. They are really cheap and affective.

Once, I read a book on how to improve your memory. It introduced me to all these fancy mind tricks where even if you forgot something important, it could be worked out through pictures and codes.

I worked out how my mind worked and began to use what I had learned. I went about learning things in a totally new way. However I soon learned that the more I focused on trying to remember things, the less likely I was to remember them.

A similar thing to this is if you concentrate on breathing. You find that consciously drawing the air into you lungs and then out again actually makes breathing feel difficult and less natural. Or if you concentrate on blinking your eyes, that too can feel unnatural and odd.

Things like memory, breathing and blinking are all processes in the body, which can be done without any conscious effort or thought. But if you try to control them consciously you can actually undermine their effectiveness. If you blink too rapidly you can actually irritate your eyes, for example.

The bottom line is this:
If you concentrate on remembering things, you can actually hamper that, which you are trying so hard to improve.

My fiance has the same problem. He is aways forgetting things. He takes a lot of vitamins to help with his memerory and the one he found that helped the most was Focus factor. He also takes Ginko Biloba and Centrum Complete chewables. If none of this sounds good to you you can go to a local viatmin store near you and tell them about it and see what they think you should do.

They say by using your mental dexterity as much as possible allows neuronal pathways in your brain to gain more strength, therefore allowing the data to be more easily attainable, thus gaining greater memory and analytical skills. The best mental dexterous activities are playing chess, sudoku crosswords. Drawing painting anything creative. Also try to involve mental activities into physical activities like playing soccer

Memorise things in your head. Do a lot of mental games, like chess and sudoku's. It will improve your memory a lot. Put your keys in your pockets and put things in easy reachable places.

You could improve your memory by taking memory tests or trying to focus on something and remembering it...test your brain on something for more then an hour and see if you could remember.
