Your kitten won't become mature until about 1 year old. SHe most likely won't be able to have kittens before then, nor should she. You will be able to tell because she will start "caterwauling" (pardon the expression) all night and become somewhat overly affectionate to the slightest pet on the back. That means she is in heat. You probably want to get her fixed as soon as possible, because it gets more expensive to fix her after she goes into heat. I have found out that you can have her fixed as early as 7 weeks, like my female kitten was when I adopted her. The vet hospital had already fixed her.

Good luck!

The people saying they reach sexual maturity at 1 yr are f*cked up. DO NOT go around giving advice if you have NO idea what you are talking about.
Kittens can go in heat as soon as 3-4 months of age, though usually starting around five -- also depending on the season and weather. You NEED to get your kitten spayed as soon as you possibly can, as long as she is 2.5 lbs or above. It will also save you from a lot of annoyance if she starts to mimic heat cycles (howling even though she's been spayed), which they do if you spay after their first heat.
Also, never assume that if she is an indoor cat she won't get out and mate. She WILL find a way, and it only takes a few seconds to complete the job. Don't add to the huge animal overpopulation problem in this country, SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PETS ASAP!!

Cats can become pregnant during their very first heat cycle. So, if you do not want her bred, do not let her outside or around any unneutered male cats. It is very unwise and unhealthy for your cat to become pregnant during her first heat cycle. Giving birth too young can kill her, the least of of the problems would be none of her kittens survive. If you want to breed your cat, I stringly urge you to wait until your cat is at least a year and a half old, by then she's a lot closer to being able to physically handle having kittens. It is ultimately better for you to wait until she is two or three years old to breeed her, but the minimum is one and a half. If you do not want her bred at all, call your local vet or spay and neuter clinic and ask them if they can spay your cat while she is in heat, some vets do, others don't and say you need to wait until she comes out of heat.

When a kitten reaces 4 months old and she goes in heat she can now get pregnant and have babies. Going in heat means having a period ad you may notice spots of blood on things the kitten sleeps on or lies on.

I have heard that some kittens can go into heat as early as five months. You need to have her spayed as soon as you can. Even one heat cycle or litter can predispose her to mammary cancer in the future and it is not worth the risk (do you want surgery, chemo, radiation in her future to save her life?)

I can't tell from your post if you are planning to "breed" her and want to do it as soon as possible. For a cat to have a pregnancy before she is fully growth will compromise her natural growth and future health. It would like a 12 yr old female having a baby. Just really a VERY bad idea.

Kittens can reach sexual maturity around 4-6 months old. It is recommended to spay your kitty after she's 6 months old because a younger cat can heal faster and better then an older one.

They can get pregnant as early as the first heat. It is NOT advised to allow this however until at least one year of age or older. Anytime before that, their uterus isn't large enough for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.

I kitten can go into heat as early as 10 weeks old...
If you don't want kittens having kittens then get her spayed or keep the tom cats away.

Good luck :)

My Suzy had her first heat at six months before her appointment.

Get your kitten spayed ASAP. It will be easier on her and for you.

Do NOT wait a year. It will be too late then.

I've heard of some that have reached sexual maturity at 4 months. It's nothing to mess around with and it's dangerous. Get your cat spayed AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
