I am not serious about this but, it does sound like some of the things that is said about the Pope and the Catholic Church, or at least as far fetched. Wouldn't you agree? How is it that people who have never studied real Catholicism are such authorities? Are you your own little Pope?

Not all Protestants said ugly things about the pope. I make it a point to never say anything about Catholics, I'm Southern Baptist. Guess you taught me a lesson, huh?

Well, some of us have studied church history on a university level and Catholic history is pretty sick. Just the Inquisition itself where over a period of about 400 years Catholics murdered 86,000,000 Christians and Jews is pretty horrifying. If the Church I was in had a history like that I would be doing some pretty serious thinking about it. When I was a kid, in Quebec people from our church were thrown into prison by the Catholic church, for distributing Bibles. That was only 50 years ago. What a religion produces is pretty good evidence of their theology. Not to mention the immorality committed against children and women, and thousands of unwanted babies that were killed and buried in tunnels so that people would not know what was going on. Sorry to be so abrupt, but these things actually happened and are happening today.

Midge, I am very familiar with Roman Catholic practices and belief, and have looked up Roman catholic books to be sure of some things.
In your different questions and answers, I would give you a mixed rating regarding your knowledge of your religion. I realize some Protestants freely say some things that have nothing to do with the truth about catholicism, but if I were you, before being sure of that in any given case, I would really look it up. It is really surprising the strange things one can find!

The first Protestant was a Catholic.
His name was Martin Luther a priest, who got ex-communicated for his protest against church practices (see the 96 thesis's) and sentenced to death. The German royalty saved his life. His main gripe was the churches practice of selling "indulgence's" (free pass's to heaven) to finance cathedrals..like St Peters cathedral....
