I keep having this nightmare that I literally lose my head but I stay alive. Then the doctor puts it back and my neck is full of stitches (very Frankestein like) I obviously feel very self-consciosus and I don't want to go out or go to work. My husband gets mad and tells me that I have to move on, be responsible and go to work.
NOTE: I am a receptionist in a laser clinic. The only doctor in charge is a dermatologist-plastic surgeon and she is super wacko and narcissist. I hate my job and the doctor.

If you hate a job, quit. To stay in a job you hate creates stress and it accumulates over time. No wonder you don't want to go to work. Could you afford to take a month off of work and have a break while looking for a job you might like? When (if)you quit; do it in the politest way possible.

make you a dream dictionary and diary. record your dreams along with the day and date and possibly the time trhat you dreamed your dreams. and start a file for all your dreams.
thats what i do. [ieven have them numbered] for future reference/
as far as meaning there is no significate reason for this kind of dream other than anxiety and possibly a vacation from yoour job for a few days and see what happens.
if your dream re-occurs you need to find out why.
to do so you need to enlist the helpof a psychic. and i would recommend [kreskin] . he has his own web site. and i dont think he will charge you very much for this.
or you can try hypnosis into the dream so they can analyse it for you.
or you might ask the sleep center if they might help . they are located in some of your hospitals.

The actual content of dreams is not as important as their emotional content. Usually it mirrors how you are feeling in your waking life, or a feeling that you are suppressing. You may want to take the idea of "losing your head" as a metaphor for how you're feeling at work, along with the emotions of feeling self-conscious and not wanting to go to work.

I think you answered your own question. It is possibly a fear of plastic surgery and the hate of the doctor that leads you to imagine them doing bad things to you like chopping your head off and doing a bad job of putting it back on. you gotta relax

you seem to be losing your head over your job. you need to start looking for something a little less stressful. otherwise, that stress could very well bleed over into family life.

I think you answered your own question. You hate your job & boss. Look for another job where you'll be happier.

It could mean you want something to happen to you that would require a sacrifice, and by doing so you could gain something you wantlike acknowledgement.
