Semper-Fi!!

This question was actually answered on the radio from an Army spokesman.

The answer for the constant changes is... Recruiting. They admit that changing from "Be All You Can Be" (the Army's most popular) to "Army of One", and now "Army Strong", their recruiting numbers have went down and down.

They felt that the "Be All You Can Be" slogan at the time was old and outdated, and instead of sticking to the philosophy of "If it ain't broke don't fix it." the Army opted to reach a new generation instead of staying with tradition.

There is new talk now to switching from "Army Strong" back to the original "Be All You Can Be" if recruiting numbers do not climb.

I doubt you'll ever see the Marine Corps change theirs.

"The Few, The Proud, Tha Marines!"

Ooh-Rah!

they do no longer replace issues ! certainly as time has disregarded the previous few centuries we've have been given greater manuscripts (approximately 25,000) with which to get the main actual unique. the translation kit are very stable as nicely. the actuality that copies of Isaiah from the lifeless Sea Scrolls are extraordinarily plenty the comparable with the aid of fact those from 800 years later is comforting. You do get floor variations of oftentimes small value yet then they have maximum of manuscripts they might extraordinarily plenty artwork out what the unique became into - they recognize it precisely for ninety 5% of the Bible (a parent I examine on yet another communicate board). As for there being a brilliant sort of translations ... human beings have a brilliant sort of money in recent times and that's a client age - see what proportion stuff you need to purchase contained in the shops in recent times - 15+ categories of coffee on your community coffee bar. while you're stressful approximately accuracy of a definite bible choose for an exceedingly literal translation like the recent American oftentimes going on Bible (or if a Catholic the recent Jerusalem Bible). some translations attempt to translate on the sentence point as they have the prefer to make issues greater readable (e.g the literal translations use metaphors of the unique circumstances which you will prefer a remark for clarification).

I'm not sure why everyone seems to get so bent out of shape over slogans. These slogans are just a recruiting tool, to entice people to join. If someone joins just because they like the slogan, I dont want them in my Army anyways, because that is a pretty lame reason to join. The one true motto of the Army is the official one, and it wont change:

"This We'll Defend"

Typical jarhead. Can you count to twenty-one without unzipping your fly, or taking off your boots?

The US Army (Senior service, thankyouverymuch.) does not change its slogan every year. "Join the People Who Joined the Army" was used for several years before changing it to "Be All You Can Be." That slogan lasted from 1981 to 2001, when they went with "Army of One." This year it was changed to represent what the Army is really about. Strong Soldiers. Physically, mentally, and emotionally strong. People of character.

Because the 'Army of One' slogan made soldiers want to puke.

(That's what you get when you hire people who have never been in the military to design your advertising campaign.)

i respect and support the marines but i also do the rest of the branches...if you don't and you're a marine you are a sorry excuse for one. as you know marines fight side by side with all branches and most although proud to be a marine still respect and support their comrades in arms. don't ever disrespect any soldier no matter which branch they serve in otherwise you just show yourself to be a petty, immature idiot who if is ever in trouble will find that there is no one there to back them up. HOOAH!

The slogans change because there's competition from other service branches.
