UV is better for drinking water. UV light kills bacteria that may be present in drinking water. In fact there are UV systems that homeowners can have installed that help to purify drinking water

It's probably UV. However, the above answer (the ultimate irony I migh add) is that bacterial endospores are UV resistant.

From personal experience I can tell you that 90% of Clostridium perfringens spores can withstand 5 minutes of shortwave UV light at ~18 inches from the source.

The point of that anecdote is is that if the water is heavily contaminated, some stuff might still get through.

While I don't know a lot about ozone & water purification, I would think using both makes the most sense. UV kills most bacteria but does little about materials pollution. Ozone should be better for removiing chemicals, and also kills some bacteria.

Hi
I think maybe some bacteria are in the spore and ozone won't action;but UV is stronger and will kill all bacteria.
