This is Amoxil (amoxicillin). It is a penicillin antibiotic, usually prescribed to treat a variety of infections - but is particularly useful for treating ear, nose and throat infections, cystitis and soft tissue infections. It can cause minor stomach upsets and skin rash. It can also provoke a severe allergic reaction with fever and swelling of the mouth and tongue, itching and severe breathing difficulties. This suggests that the taker is allergic to penicillin.
Please take the full prescribed course, even if you feel better after a few doses - the original infection may still be present and symptoms may reoccur if treatment is stopped too soon.
Amoxil may reduce the effectiveness of the oral contraceptive pill and may increase breakthrough bleeding.
Please only take this medication if it has been prescribed for you. Discuss issues with your medical practitioner - you need to inform them if you have kidney problems, asthma, and other medical problems as this has implications.

Hope this helps.
